Athene 3.3 Now Available

27 January 2004: Rocklyte Systems is pleased to announce the latest version of its free multi-platform operating system environment, Athene 3.3. Available for Linux and Windows, Athene supports the rare ability of being able to function on competing operating systems, while also maintaining its own independent OS infrastructure (the Athenyx CDROM series). The 3.3 release of Athene makes a number of new advances, including:

New File Manager with enhanced support for all file operations and new menu and view options.
New Mini Player with improved audio playback features.
11 new GUI classes to simplify the creation of application interfaces.
Improved support for multi-lingual application interfaces.
Revised SDK to improve ease of use and speed up the development process.
Linux kernel 2.6.1 now used, with noticeable improvements to CPU distribution amongst applications [commercial version only].

The commercial version, which is currently available in pre-retail form, has been updated to include these changes and other internal improvements.
