FAQ Index

"Do you have an open source policy?"

Yes! The source code for Athene and the Pandora Engine is distributed under the terms of the Open Development License. As of January 2004, approximately 90% of our source code is available to the public.

"Where can I go to discuss your products with others?"

There is a public message board on our website - click here to visit it.

If you're just interested in receiving announcements, join our announcement mailing list and we'll keep you updated on new product releases and important news items.

"Is permission required to distribute your freely downloadable products?"

Our policy with respect to our downloadable products is that yes, you can legally distribute them without necessarily acquiring our permission (to be certain, check if there is a copyright notice in the package saying otherwise). You can distribute our products on CD with other works, although we prefer to be notified in such instances. Please note that Rocklyte Systems reserves all its rights in respect to its works. In the event that we feel that our distribution policy is being exploited, we may revoke your privileges with respect to the distribution and use of our software, for the purpose of preventing illegitimate or borderline activity.

Any redistribution of our software must be in its original and unmodified state. If you want to distribute a modified version of one of our software products, you must seek our written permission first or you will be in breach of copyright law and our licensing terms.

Naturally, this free-copy policy does not apply to the commercial versions of our products.
