The Dynamic Markup Language

The Dynamic Markup Language, or "DML" for short is an XML based language that has been designed specifically for object based graphics construction and the development of user interfaces. It bears some similarities to HTML, but includes extensions that provide support for calculations, argument passing, and variable storage. DML also features as the native language for Athene, our multi-platform operating system.

Features include:

  • Compatible with Netscape and other plugin-supportive browsers.
  • Enhances HTML's graphics capabilities with lines, boxes, circles, gradients, animations, special effects and more.
  • Allows customised components to be added if you need to do something that is not already provided.
  • Scripts can be compressed with pkzip to minimise server bandwidth.
  • Available for Microsoft Windows and Linux, with full compatibility between supported platforms.

Using the Dynamic Markup Language you can:

  • Enhance your web pages with embedded applications and interactive components.
  • Deliver multimedia presentations and interactive documents through your web site.
  • Create customised desktops on your web server for clients and staff to access.

NB: Support for the DML Internet plugin has recently been removed. It will reappear at a later stage.
