Athene System Requirements

The following requirements apply to the installation of Athene:

128 MB RAM.
Intel Pentium / Compatible CPU or better.
Mouse (PS/2 or USB only)
Plug and Play / VESA Compliant Monitor.
500+ MB Hard Drive Space reserved for installation.
Supported graphics card (see list). All VESA compliant graphics cards are supported, so almost any modern card will work even if not recognised by the system.

Installation

The commercial release of Athene is delivered on a single bootable CDROM. The installation process is usually started by inserting the CD into your main CDROM drive and powering on the machine. It is also possible to start the installation from a floppy disk if booting from CD is not supported by your computer's BIOS.

Hard-disk partitioning software is provided with Athene so that you can make room for its installation on your computer. The installation process recognises other operating systems on your computer and Athene can be installed alongside them.

The system can even be installed to an existing Linux partition if you would like to avoid creating new partitions on your hard-drive. However, user support is not available when Athene is installed on third party systems.
